Facelift / Necklift
A facelift (rhytidectomy) rejuvenates the face by reducing sagging skin, lifting and tightening weakened muscles of the face and neck.
The natural aging process causes loss of elasticity of the skin. As we are exposed to the sun and pollutants, deeper wrinkles start to form. The effects of gravity cause underlying facial muscles in the cheeks and neck to become loose. Skin folds appear on the cheeks, and fatty tissue can appear around the neck and jowls, causing the jawline to lose its definition. Weakened platysma muscles of the neck separate and form a “turkey wattle.” A facelift (rhytidectomy) rejuvenates the face by reducing sagging skin, lifting and tightening weakened muscles of the face and neck and removing excess fat underneath the skin, which smoothens out and improves wrinkles. Dr. Sultan uses modified deep plane techniques to reposition the underlying facial tissue, rather than just the skin. By setting the architecture of the facial tissues back to a more youthful appearance, Dr. Sultan can prevent unnatural tightening or pulling of the facial skin, avoiding the “pulled” or “wind tunnel” appearance.
