I hope you are as excited as I am as we start this new decade. Plastic surgery has come a long way with increased surgical safety, more reliable, long-lasting results, and new technologies with less downtime. With the introduction of all of these new advances, it becomes increasingly more difficult to discern substance from very nice marketing. I often think of the phrase, “If all you have is a hammer then everything appears to be a nail.” If one’s practice is limited in its offerings, the patient may not receive the most ideal treatment for their expressed goals. I pride myself in attending and teaching at some of the premiere facial plastic surgery conferences attended by plastic surgeons from around the world. This is where new ideas are shared as well as old ideas evaluated. It is through this dialogue that I have introduced some new pieces of technology to my practice. The goal is to have a fantastic, natural result with less downtime.
FaceTite provides dramatic improvement in skin laxity on the face and neck, which was previously only attainable through a surgical procedure such as a facelift. FaceTite utilizes minimally invasive radio-frequency energy to melt fat and tighten skin. Any areas on the face and neck with saggy skin can be treated. This includes the double chin, jowls and other areas with deep lines and loose skin. By avoiding an excisional facelift procedure, patients will be scar free and will benefit from reduced post-procedural swelling and discomfort. This is a less traumatic process with a natural looking final result. Morpheus8 is a new subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARD) that fractionally remodels and contours the face and body. Penetrating deep into the skin and fat, this morphs the aging face or body into a more desired smooth and sleek appearance, for all skin tones. Morpheus8 has the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin than any other microneedling device, going as deep as 4mm. The HALO hybrid fractional laser combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths delivered to the same microscopic treatment zone to maximize clinical results and minimize downtimes. HALO is safe and effective, while providing an enhanced patient experience. This laser application can improve wrinkles, sun damage, acne scars, among many other skin conditions.
